[Tuesday] Hurricane Milton to Bring Extreme Impacts to Florida Wednesday and Thursday

What do you attribute all this unnatural, gridded-out spate of forest fires, and now inland hurricanes?

Glow Bull Warming/Cooling/Climb-Ate Change?

Here's a podcast that I've found interesting. Sorry that the opening is damaged, missing the introduction of these people. I've listened to Seth Holehouse for several years and he seems level-headed.

Not from DEW weapons.

and now inland hurricanes?
It was a tropical storm once it was halfway across Georgia. Seemed kinda typical. Strong Hurricanes dropping to Tropical storm intensity are notorious for dumping lots of rain. The unfortunate part was where the rain got dumped.

Glow Bull Warming/Cooling/Climb-Ate Change?
Communist ploy to usher in Global taxation.

Even Sol seems level headed on certain topics.

Hurricane Milton could cost insurers $60 bln, raise reinsurance rates, RBC says

  • Hurricane Milton loss could be $60 bln, similar to Hurricane Ian in 2022- RBC
  • Milton due to hit Florida's Gulf Coast late Wednesday/early Thursday
  • Rreinsurance rates could rise, boosting shares
LONDON, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Hurricane Milton could result in a $60 billion loss for the global insurance industry, creating a surge in 2025 reinsurance prices which could boost some insurance companies' shares, analysts at RBC Capital said. The Category 5 hurricane is due to make landfall on the Gulf Coast of Florida late on Wednesday or early Thursday, and is potentially one of the most destructive ever to hit the region, which is still recovering from devastation caused by Hurricane Helene less than two weeks ago.

It's shocking what's happening in the Appalachians, This isn't just a normal flood – this is one of those rare events that happen once in 500 years, The situation in Tennessee is truly dire, with massive destruction, Major highways are wrecked, homes are ruined, and access to aid is a huge problem.People in this region are facing not only physical devastation but also infrastructure issues like water and power shortages (PM Bug gold and silver discussion forum)(PMBug gold and silver discussion forum).
Aid must come fast, but the problem is that only 1 in 200 homes in the area had flood insurance, This means that most residents won't have support from the government, as the flood insurance program doesn't cover specific risks like the heavy rains in mountainous areas(PM Bug gold and silver discussion forum), This is a wake-up call that it’s not just coastal areas that are vulnerable to disasters

October 9, 2024

In this episode, Sal Mercogliano - a maritime historian at Campbell University (@campbelledu) and former merchant mariner - talks about the evacuation of the Port of Tampa (‪@porttampabay918‬); the offloading of four tankers; why a Jones Act Waiver will not be needed, why it is now time to mobilize maritime assets - US Navy amphibious ships, US Army watercraft, and Maritime Administration National Security Multi-Mission vessel and ships of the Ready Reserve Force; and the economic impact on a prolonged closure of the Port of Tampa to Florida and the US.
