Goines lied to the judge prior to the 2019 raid to obtain the no-knock search warrant, telling the judge in an affidavit that he paid a confidential informant to purchase heroin at Tuttle and Nicholas’s home. But no such informant ever existed, and no heroin was found at the home.

Local news says jury will get to hear about Goines history of lying to prosecute people over his 20+ year career (leading to false imprisonment of many people) during the sentencing phase. Goines is a grade A piece of shit.

Gerald Goines, convicted of felony murder, was rushed to a hospital Thursday on the cusp of jurors beginning their deliberations for his punishment.

The former Houston police officer, who turned 60 on Wednesday, appeared unsettled around 10:50 a.m. after prosecutor Tanisha Manning declared him shameful and looked directly at him during her closing arguments in the felony murder trial. He placed his hands firmly on the attorney’s table, catching the attention of one of his attorneys. The lawyer flagged down a bailiff, prompting the judge to excuse the jury.

Within a half hour of Goines leaving the courtroom, he was rushed out of the 1201 Franklin courthouse on a stretcher with oxygen tubes in his nose and adhesive electrodes attached to his chest. Bailiffs and paramedics flanked him and escorted him to an ambulance parked in front of the criminal courthouse.

He did not appear to be handcuffed.

Local news reported live from the courthouse as the sentencing verdict was read. Goines got 60 years and a 10k fine. It will be 30 years before he is eligible for parole. He will be 91 years old if he lives that long.
