A network of NGOs, or non-governmental organizations, seems to be playing a powerful role in coordinating the large-scale invasion of illegals at the US southern border.
The new website Muckraker revealed a treasure trove of "mass migration blueprints," handed out by NGOs across South and Central America to illegals with details about their route to the US.

Governor Greg Abbott today issued a statement on Texas’ constitutional right to defend and protect itself as President Joe Biden continues to attack Texas and refuse to perform his duties to secure the border.
"The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now," reads the statement. "President Biden has instructed his agencies to ignore federal statutes that mandate the detention of illegal immigrants. The failure of the Biden Administration to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV, § 4 has triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense. For these reasons, I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself. That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary."

It certainly ought to. Failure to perform his Constitutionally imposed duties is grounds to disregard him and his "orders".Gov. Abbott's letter (post#46 above) may end up being the spark that starts a new States vs. Federal gov civil war.
ChatGPT was useless on the last question, but I did find the data I was seeking here:
From 1960 to 2018, the most encounters at the southern border recorded in one year was 1,643,679 in the year 2000. It was less than 400,000 in 2018.
In FY2022 and FY2023, the totals were 2,378,994 and 2,475,669 per:
Yep, we are. I came here after watching the following video and and the first thing I saw was a perfect intro for it, as it shows the results for all to see. Thanks for posting that.Makes sense if you think about it. Why should the feds be allowed to just dump 100,000 people into a state and burden the state?
Already we are seeing the results of that.
Yep. I hope they choke on that bs. They only became so-caled sanctuary cities as a way to be against Trump's illegal immigration policies. Now it's biting them in the ass. As Tony the Tiger would say, That's great!Sanctuary cities asked for it and now they got it. Now they are crying that they are being overwhelmed and need resources.
F' that. Only a socialist/Globalist would want that.Instead, the United States should significantly increase immigration as a central element of a national security strategy
