These people aren't stupid. They know better than most that carbon CO2 is needed and as the population grows we need even more to feed it and have the mild warming effect that it has. They also know we can't have any runaway greenhouse effect on Earth because our atmosphere is too thin.
However, the bottom line is they can do whatever they want and there is no stopping them. Humans have proven to tolerate shit and even load themselves on railroad cars to head off to certain death.
