In my assessment the banter is a trick. When has MSN done anything for us?
Here is what I think is planned- drum up- emotions for secession, assassination of the prez, then chaos into a civil war-"fixed" by a Constitutional Convention.
If that happens- be afraid- a Con-con means k-street type lawyers would gut and rewrite the Constitution, using the EUs 800 page Constitution as a template at best.
Texas is the only state by treaty which is renewed each year. TEXAS COULD simply not renew it- however Gov Rick Perry has said Texas is not interested in leaving the Union.
If 25,000 signatures get on the petition, the white house will have an adviser look at it.
Gee- wow. Golly.
After the Civil war- is now requires approval of ALL other states- so if PA wanted to succeed- 49 other states are required to approve such in order for this to happen.
The odds of that are impossible. A petition on the white house website means nothing.
We sit just one or a few states away from the con-con trigger.
So why is MSM pushing this? Who gains what from a gutted and revised Constitution??
Perry is just an actor. He does his rootin'-tootin'-shootin' Texan routine, but folded on the anti-TSA deal and he'll continue fold on anything of substance since he is a system man. Remember he campainged as a democrat for Gore in '88; if he was the least bit liberty-minded he would have been supporting someone else in '88.Yeah, it won't go anywhere - even with Rick Perry sitting in the Governor's office (he was just pandering for tea party support IMO).

And of course, the reason Texans are all about this when the whim strikes them is they think they are self sufficient as a state, or better. I don't believe it myself, but I'm not a Texan.
50 states petition White House to secede from Union
On November 14, 2012, Daily Caller announced that the White House website “We the People” has received secession petitions from all 50 states. The petitions were filed and signed by those who ...
Didn't click the link, but the petitions can be created by anyone. The headline "50 states petition" is wrong. These petitions are not official actions of State governments.
