SHOCKING CRASH: PILOT AND PASSENGER RESCUED AFTER COLLIDING INTO POWER LINES, TOWER

A small plane crashed into an electrical transmission tower in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Sunday night leaving tens of thousands without power for over six hours. 65-year-old pilot Patrick Merkle and passenger Jan Williams, 66, were rescued and taken to the hospital for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. The plane was then removed by a crane so power could be restored.
