Father Time has forced me to buy a magnifying glass to read coin dates. What is everybody using that works? I do not want to buy 3 products from China before I find one that is not a ripoff. Thx

I just use readers (generic/non-prescription reading glasses) to read small/fine print. I'd probably use something fancier if I was inspecting for numismatic qualities/imperfections.

I am trying to read dates on 1/10th & 1/25th oz. bullion coins. Platinum is especially difficult because the letters are so friggen' small and shiny.

Hey Nick, Zeiss makes great optics, but you pay out the nose for them.
Eschenbach is a big name with high end numismatists, but they too are pricey.

I know a lot of numismatists who use BelOMO products and love 'em.

But, in all honesty, if all you really want it for is to clearly see dates and you're not scouring over coins looking for VAMs/varieties etc you'd probably be just fine buying some cheap lens from China.

Almost forgot about these.
I've probably had 4 or 5 of these over the years. They even have a light if you think you might need that.
