It's been smelling ripe for awhile now.

It just takes time for the majority to be able to smell it too.

When Fed cuts rates, they might only cut 25 pts. Markets ate expecting at least 50. Disappointing markets could cause downside pressure. Additionally, cutting rates should add pressure for more unwinding of the Yen carry trade. There are definitely some major risks on the horizon.

Short answer, I have always been suspicious. In the 90's I listened to Bob Brinker's Money Talk, and he kept talking about gift horses in the Treasury bill market. That made no sense to me. Later, the tech market went booming, and I did not see how Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, and others were worth their P/E ratios. The "wisdom" was that growth companies traded much higher because they would... grow. "SO WHAT?!" That is without the expletives.

We all saw how the overvalued and shitty AOL somehow bought Time Warner, and destroyed both of them. Good riddance for AOL, but killing Time Warner was probably unjustified.

And now we have advertising companies that are valued insanely higher than companies that produce our food, our fuel, our raw metals, our building materials, our homes, our energy, our appliances, our cars, and so much more.

WHY THE HELL SHOULD AN ADVERTISING COMPANY BE WORTH MORE THAN A COMPANY THAT PRODUCES?!

GOD DAMN IT!

I been looking at global ETFs since rates dropped below 5%. I think in any crash the circuit breakers kick in with Blackrock and Vanguard ready to bail out the market with injections from the FED or Treasury. It's rigged, but they are keeping things aflot until they are not.

I also have been buying fractional gold @ spot + 1.5% and krugerrands at spot. I saw a place near Tampa selling platinum eagles @ spot + $50 which is cheap.

There is so much momentum in the equity & PM markets. I would hate to be short in either right now.

Central banks aren't even pretending to fight inflation anymore. China is full on with stimulus. Party 'till you drop I guess...

What I have been seeing lately is pop to the upside at the open, just to be sold off the rest of the day. There are exceptions of course. Netflix today. Drops at the open then runs up 100 bucks. LOL. Overall though it feels like the big boys are selling these rallies. All week I have been watching stocks on my watch list pretty closely and you can just see them stall at certain areas and trade a massive amount of shares. Usually a sign that big money is exiting.

Gold and silver on a run so maybe they are being bought up as safety plays?

I'm about 60% cash right now and any risk I take is very small and very short term unless I see a very strong chart pattern. The money that is invested has been in there for a few years, mostly in miners.

Has retail passive investing reached a point where it eliminates the possibility of a crash? A constant stream of indiscriminate buying to backstop any panic.

The market is far fundamentally over valued and ripe to fall....but the super sized hedge funds are the market and I'm not sure what could bring it down.... it will take a catalytic event such as a real pandemic or something...in my opinion....I am not invested in the market other than treasuries, and some minor etf and mining stocks currently...
All my opinion only

Would be a financial breakdown somewhere like Japan. China is printing like crazy USA. Did you know our debt will be $40T in the real near future?

Selected stocks are going up because of printing not real growth.

Trump can buy us 4 years, but if the clowns resume their destruction in 2028 the end of what was the USA will come quickly.

Credit Collapse, Fall of Dollar to Send GOLD 'Dramatically Higher': Bill Holter

Bill Holter sees a multitude of crises on the horizon, including an exploding debt bomb in the U.S., bank failures, a collapse of the credit market, and brazenly corrupt political leaders that will ultimately lead to the fall of the American empire. Bill believes all these developments are bullish for gold and silver and he explains why taking physical precious metals into your possession will be one of the few ways to protect yourself from the chaos to come.
