Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the incoming House Oversight Committee chair, outlined a Republican investigation into Hunter Biden and the Biden family during a press conference on Capitol Hill. Rep. Comer said this investigation is not about Hunter Biden, but an investigation of President Biden as he alleged the president was directly involved in questionable business deals and financial transactions with foreign countries and companies. Also appearing was Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who promised to investigate reported political activity to the Justice Department.

would an actuary be able to predict the odds of anyone in the Biden family of going to jail as a result of this committees investigation?…..any search warrants?……can i get a subpoena?

The establishment GOP, namely Kevin McCarthy, making good on promise to Marjorie Taylor Greene that if she and other populist reps voted for Kevin to be Leader of the House, he would hold investigations into various things dear to MTG, et al. He didn't however promise that the investigations would be more than tokens. Time will tell if MTG and others played the part of the fool in voting for Kevin McCarthy.

Had the Republicans had the red wave in the election about which much hullabaloo was made, Kevin wouldn't have had to court the votes of MTG and others. But due to the thin victory, MTG's vote became much more valuable. She took the bait and we will see if it was a good bet.

McCarthy served as House Majority Leader under speakers John Boehner and Paul Ryan from 2014 to 2019 so I don't trust the bastard.

I wish MTG and team good luck with the investigations but I will be surprised if they lead to anything.

Man, I hate being cynical but perhaps it's also the realistic view. Unfortunately.

He will need at least 218 votes on Jan 3rd to become House speaker but he'll probably get that too. The bastard.
