Trump halts all U.S. military aid to Ukraine, White House official says​

U.S. President Donald Trump has paused all military aid to Ukraine following his clash with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy last week, a White House official said on Monday.

“President has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution,” said the official, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Zelenskiy’s office did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment outside office hours.

At best, Z is just a steward for the Ukrainian executive office, a pro-tem secretary who continues the daily regimen.

In the business world, would an important vendor or customer rely on a secretary to sign very important deals on behalf of a mysteriously absent CEO?

Ukraine has no president. Maybe their Rada can ratify an agreement initiated by a state department official, but I think even this idea is stretching the boundaries of law.
 
If I were weighing the standing of Ted Nugent speaking for the US versus Z speaking for Ukraine, I would favor Ted. He has more standing.
 
Saying Trump is a traitor (in this case) is saying he is a citizen of Ukraine, and has an obligation to its country (government).
Nope. He can piss on Ukrainian politicians all day long, call them names, and cut their funding.

Let the swine squeal. Maybe there will be bacon, ham, sausage, and ribs when the killing is done.

KYIV — Four senior members of Donald Trump’s entourage have held secret discussions with some of Kyiv’s top political opponents to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, just as Washington aligns with Moscow in seeking to lever the Ukrainian president out of his job.

The senior Trump allies held talks with Ukrainian opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, a remorselessly ambitious former prime minister, and senior members of the party of Petro Poroshenko, Zelenskyy’s immediate predecessor as president, according to three Ukrainian parliamentarians and a U.S. Republican foreign policy expert.

The discussions centered on whether Ukraine could hold quick presidential elections. These are being delayed in line with the country’s constitution because Ukraine remains under martial law. Critics of holding elections say they could be chaotic and play into Russia’s hands, with so many potential voters serving on the front lines or living abroad as refugees.
