While this may be true, how would the corrupt politicians line their pockets getting kickbacks from their pork projects?

Shumer says Americans can breath a sigh of relief now. LOL. Yes just relax because we are about to bend you over, use no lube and fork you really hard. How does everyone think this interest on the debt is going to be paid with interest rates this high and growing higher? More taxes. But hey, at least we dont have to worry about our politicians going homeless since they get all their living expenses paid for by us now.

... Yes just relax because we are about to bend you over, use no lube and fork you really hard. ...

<Morpheus> and how would that be different from any other day? </Morpheus>

Government shutdown is back on the table...

They think we need them. It's government for the people, not rob the people and steal as much as you can while in office.

US will only default on specific targets like countries or institutions. For the forseeable future they can simply print until they cannot.

I believe it's 8 working days left to pass something. Doesn't sound like there is enough consensus to pass something yet.

I don't get it. No other country in the industrialized world goes through this horse shit...........just us.

Hardline shutdown push of the few frustrates US House Republicans

WASHINGTON, Sept 28 (Reuters) - A small group of hardline Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives have set the federal government on a course towards its fourth partial shutdown in a decade, angering some members of their own caucus.

At least nine members of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's narrow 221-212 majority are refusing to back any stopgap measure to keep the government funded past midnight Saturday -- and threatening to try to oust him from leadership if he relies on Democratic votes to work around them.

It seems this time is different with respect to Congress' will to keep the spice flowing.

I wouldn't miss them if they wanted to shut down the entire government for a year.

Whole lotta havoc would occur. Lots of services we depend on for smooth day to day activities would be shut down or curtailed big time. I don't understand why we have to go through something that other countries simply take for granted. It's like we've elected kids who play with power like it's a toy and to hell with the people who elected them.

Millionaire GOP Rep Says He'll Take Pay During Shutdown Because He's 'Not Independently Wealthy'

In today's edition of out of touch elitist politicians, GOP Rep. Brandon Williams told C-SPAN's Greta Brawner he'll opt to continue receiving pay if the government shuts down because he's not "independently wealthy."

He then told workers who will be furloughed and won't be paid while the government is closed to not expect "a huge amount of sympathy."

After admitting he didn't know how a government shutdown would affect his paycheck and needing Brawner to explain it to him, he was then asked if he would accept his pay if and when a shutdown occurs.

Williams: "I will. You know I am not independently wealthy, and we are like any other family."

Services like border security? The reality is we could eliminate 90% of the federal government and not even blink an eye.

I'm not sure what you mean by other countries take for granted? What do they take for granted? The fact that politicians will pass a budget? Keep in mind, most other countries operate at a fraction of what the US does. We have the most expensive government in the world as well as it being the most corrupt. In case you haven't noticed, there is a huge segment of America that is tired of the inflation and tired of having their standard of living deteriorate drastically year after year while those in Government just enrich themselves off of our tax dollars.

You will never get through. All you'll do is activate libDNA cognitive dissonance.

If so, it's only because the parts of gov needing to shut down, won't be.
....and the parts they do shut down will be chosen as such only to cause as much inconvenience to the People as possible.

It's like we've elected kids who play with power like it's a toy and to hell with the people who elected them.
The people who elected them want the excess spending stopped.

At least 90%. Probably more.

All they gotta do is cut any spending that isn't directly supported by the Constitution.

Good for 45 more days. Will the crazies try to oust McCarthy?

I was reading last night that Gaetz has lost a lot of political capital with this stand. He doesn't have the support to elect any replacement for McCarthy. Ousting him without a replacement plan would be idiotic, so there is a 50% chance it happens.

50% is pulled from my ass and I'm only half joking.

McCarthey was selected and he has the $ behind him. No way the parasites will elect a populist as speaker in these times.

Matt should go into television or work with Tucker. He is done in Congress.

Looks like the motion to vacate is going to pass. The battle to elect a new Speaker will begin soon. It likely won't end soon though.

Hopefully it'll take at least 13 Months.
The continuing resolution was only for 45 days. Congress was working on appropriation bills when this happened. If the wrangling for a new Speaker lasts more than a couple of weeks, it's likely going to end up causing at least a partial government shutdown. I expect some disorderly action in the markets as this plays out.

Nope. Wrong.
I am shocked. Just when you think things could not get more screwed up they out do themselves. It was payback and the dems pilled on. Only took 8 pukes to get rid of him. I am shocked. Repuke chaos is as scary as the demopedos rioting in the streets and burring down cities.

For the record, Pelosi should have been removed each time she was speaker.

It's a start. It's also a sign that public pressure is making it's way to the cesspool we call DC. For far to long these people say whatever they have to to go what they want in DC and then turn around and renege on everything. He got the position if certain criteria were met and maintained. He failed to do that and now there are consequences. Chaos or not, I am glad he's gone.
