LONDON, Sept 8 (Reuters) – Russia has designated the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) as an “undesirable” organization in a step the union said will have significant ramifications for 1.6 million Russian members, the ITF said on Friday.

The label “undesirable” has been applied to dozens of foreign groups since Moscow began using the classification in 2015, and effectively bans an organization outright.

Decommissioning boom tightens availability of heavy-lift vessels​

Dismantling ageing platforms and legacy offshore oil and gas infrastructure is generating increasing demand for high-spec, heavy-lift vessels.

Rates for these behemoths run to several hundred thousand dollars a day, a price client companies are willing to pay to increase the efficiency of removal operations. The impressive removal and lifting capabilities of these vessels make transporting recyclable materials back to port for processing safer and cheaper.

$1.5 Trillion Dollars Worth Of 'White Gold' Found In Supervolcano On Nevada-Oregon Border​

An ancient supervolcano along the Nevada-Oregon border contains what could be the world's largest single deposit of lithium. The findings could reshape the West's supply of the critical metal -- and might even change the geopolitical game with China.

Researchers from Lithium Americas Corporation, GNS Science, and Oregon State University published their findings in the Journal for Science Advances on Aug. 31. They found the McDermitt Caldera, a caldera measuring 28 miles long and 22 miles wide, on the Nevada-Oregon border, contains around 20 to 40 million metric tons of lithium – a figure that would dwarf deposits in Australia and Chile.
