Bitcoin Vs. Gold: Which Will Beat Inflation?​

Suddenly inflation worries are on the table again. That’s a bullish sign for putative inflation hedges like gold and Bitcoin—although worried investors shouldn’t overlook a simpler solution: stocks.

While the Federal Reserve lowered the benchmark federal-funds rate for the third time this year on Wednesday, policymakers walked back rate-cut expectations for 2025, triggering worries up and down Wall Street and sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average down more than 1,000 points. At issue: Economic growth remains strong and inflation stubbornly high. Inflation fears are a key reason 10-year Treasury yields spiked, despite the cut to short-term rates.

Dow closes nearly 500 points higher on cooler inflation data, but index posts third straight losing week: Live updates​

The Dow Jones Industrial Average bounced on Friday to close out a tough week that saw the index plunge 1,100 points in a single day and complete its longest losing streak since the 1970s. Some cooler-than-expected inflation data helped fuel the session’s bounce.

The 30-stock Dow gained 498.02 points, or 1.18%. The S&P 500 added 1.09%, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.03%
