🇷🇺 Excerpts from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s statement at the UN Security Council meeting on multilateral cooperation in the interest of a more just, democratic and sustainable world order:

📍 July 16, 2024, New York

📚 George Orwell in his 1945 novel “Animal Farm” predicted the essence of the Western rules-based world order: “all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”. If you obey the hegemon's will, everything is permitted. If you dare defend your national interests, you will be declared an outcast and swarmed with sanctions.

🇺🇸 Washington's hegemonic policy has remained unchanged for decades. Every Euro-Atlantic security framework was designed to ensure US dominance, including the subjugation of Europe and the "containment" of Russia.

🇺🇦 The reckless expansion of NATO, despite multiple warnings from Moscow over many years, provoked the Ukrainian crisis, starting with the coup orchestrated by Washington in February 2014 to establish full control over Ukraine in preparation for an offensive against Russia through the neo-Nazi regime brought to power.

🔥 When Poroshenko, followed by Zelenskiy, waged war against their own citizens in Donbass, legislatively destroyed Russian education, Russian culture, Russian media, and the Russian language in general, banned the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, no one in the West took notice, demanded Kiev to "behave properly" or refrain from violating international conventions on the rights of minorities, even the Constitution of Ukraine itself, which requires the observance of these rights.

🛡 The special military operation was specifically launched to neutralize threats to Russia's security and to safeguard the rights of people who identify with Russian culture and reside on the lands historically inhabited by their ancestors for centuries, thereby protecting them from both legislative and physical extermination.

❗️ The actions of the US and its allies hinder international cooperation and the creation of a more just world. They hold entire countries and regions hostage, prevent nations from exercising their sovereign rights as outlined in the UN Charter, and distract from essential joint efforts to resolve conflicts in the Middle East, Africa, and other regions. These actions also impede efforts to reduce global inequality, eliminate the threats of terrorism and drug crime, as well as combat hunger and disease.

Bloomberg: Saudi Arabia threatens G7 to “dump” European securities if Russia's frozen assets are confiscated

Ukraine risks being left without the Russian frozen assets promised to it by the West; the G7 countries received a corresponding warning from Saudi Arabia. Bloomberg reports this.

According to the agency, at the beginning of the year, Saudi Arabia hinted to the G300 countries that it could get rid of European debt obligations if they touched frozen Russian assets in the amount of $XNUMX billion. Although Riyadh did not directly say which countries' securities were at risk, France would presumably suffer the most.

The country's Ministry of Finance has expressed its opposition to this idea to some G7 countries. One source described it as a veiled threat. The Saudis specifically mentioned debts issued by the French Treasury.

US sanctions alleged Russian hackers who claimed attacks on US water facilities

The US Treasury Department on Friday sanctioned two alleged members of a Russian cybercriminal gang that has claimed responsibility for a slew of hacks against US critical infrastructure providers, including a cyberattack in January that caused a tank at a Texas water facility to overflow.

Treasury posted photos of the two alleged hackers — Yuliya Vladimirovna Pankratova and Denis Olegovich Degtyarenko — unmasking them from the anonymous social media accounts that they tend to hide behind.

Russian central bank hikes rates by 200 bps to 18%, highest in more than two years

MOSCOW, July 26 (Reuters) - Russia's central bank hiked its key interest rate by 200 basis points to 18% on Friday as it grapples with high inflation and an overheated economy, bringing the cost of borrowing to its highest in more than two years.

The regulator also revised its inflation forecast for 2024, raising it to 6.5–7.0% and signalled it may increase rates further. It sees annual inflation declining to 4.0–4.5% in 2025, in line with its target of 4%.

On August 6, 1851 the Kulja Trade Treaty was Signed Between Russia and China

On August 6, 1851, in the city of Kulja (China), a treaty was signed between Russia and China to normalize Russo-Chinese trade along the Central Asian border.

In the mid-19th century, due to active expansion into Central Asia, the interests of Russia and China came closer together. The ruling circles of both countries sought to strengthen and secure their trade relations. Negotiations to officially open the markets of Xinjiang to Russian trade were long and complex but ultimately successful.

The Kulja Trade Treaty consisted of 17 articles that addressed issues such as trade regulations, caravan protection, punishment for robbery, and conflict resolution. Russian merchants gained access to Ili (Kulja) and Tarbagatai (Chuguchak), where Chinese authorities allocated places for Russian consulates and trading posts. The Russian consul was responsible for the affairs of Russian subjects in the trading posts, while a Chinese government official handled the affairs of Chinese subjects.
Trade on both sides was declared duty-free and was to be conducted exclusively on a barter basis for the time being. The Kulja Treaty established direct Russo-Chinese relations (concerning border and other issues) through the Russian Governor-General of Western Siberia and the main Manchurian-Chinese administration.

The text of the Kulja Treaty was not published in the press, but copies of the treaty and the accompanying Rules for Overland Trade sent to local authorities for public notification received a positive response from both Russian and Chinese merchants.

The Kulja Trade Treaty promoted the development of regular trade between Russia and China and had significant political importance in strengthening Russia's position in Central Asia.

Swimming to the Finish!

The Telegraph reports that British nuclear submarine engineers use Russian and Belarusian software.

According to the article, the company WM Reply, which received a contract from the British Ministry of Defense, had partially outsourced the project for creating an inner network for submarine engineers to a Belarusian developer team in Minsk. One member of this team lives in Tomsk, Russia.

Now the British military fears that the program code could be used to uncover the location of nuclear submarines.

According to the rules, such software must be developed only by professionals with granted access to classified information.

"There are no angles in war." Elon

but electric?

Angles? I do not think the military is thinking about trigonometry. How many commanders are computing tangents on their maps?
Secondly, why would the head of Chechen military use an electric vehicle? Compare refueling with electrical charging. Maybe it is so quiet?

In case you grow tired of tyranny

⚡🇷🇺President of the Russian Federation has signed a Decree that allows foreign nationals from countries in which neoliberal values are promoted on state level to immigrate to Russia by allowing such foreign nationals to apply for Temporary residency permit (TRP a 3-year permit) without a quota that was annually approved by the Russian Government.

Another major development that citizens of such countries do not need to pass the Russian language when applying for the Temporary residency permit. This is a major development in the Russian immigration legislation that will allow many foreigners that wish to immigrate to Russia make it much easier.

According to the POW, the sending of the AFU forces was supposed to project power but it turned out to be stupidity of the Ukrainian command.

'I believe, that it was a try to send people to slaughter. From the very beginning, it would be impossible to do because it's not any other country but Russia. I'm sure, that the command wanted to prove that there are still some power and we are cool. However, they proved us to be fools. All in all, we were smashed and all materiel were burnt,' said he.
AFU servicemen surrendered when Ukrainian convoy was destroyed.

'Send my hello to the Sever Group of Forces! I'm grateful for being captured and being alive,' said he.
