Why did Putin wait so long to make this move after all the vegetable was in office for some time already.
Optics is my guess? Xi didn't want it to get in the way of the Olympics?

Wait for Mr. Potato head to get settled and then pull the rug out from under??

His thoughts on the Ukraine issue pretty much align with mine. Russia and the Minsk Accords were always about a buffer zone between NATO / THE WEST and Russia's Western Borders.
If the WEST had abided by the accords this issue may never had risen. Then the unveiling of BIO-labs not only in Ukraine but in all the border countries along the European borders with Russia all compliment of US Military .
The NAZI financed ( SOROS) WEF and his leftist NGO programs through out the WEST/UK/US/Fr/....have continually sought to poke The Bear.
FUNNY how Russia exposes to the world all these documents they find that support PUTIN's rhetoric yet MSM quashes that information in lieu of the WEF/UK/US/... narrative that this all started in February 2022.
When it actually starter back before 2014.
Sheeple fail to DYODD.
The ancient chariot wars was space filler AFAIC.

Russia is a place most folks know nothing about.

The IEA's latest World Energy Outlook shows how Russia's projected gas exports, shown in the chart above, have plunged compared to last year.
  • The agency has also significantly cut projected Russian oil exports in the years ahead.
  • Under IEA's long-term outlook to 2050, Russia's exports never return to 2021 levels.

Background: Western sanctions, Vladimir Putin's cuts in gas exports to Europe, and Europe's efforts to wean itself off Russian fuels are all slated to erode Russia's market position.
  • "Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is prompting a wholesale reorientation of global energy trade, leaving Russia with a much-diminished position," the report notes.

The big picture: The IEA had previously projected a long-term decline in Europe's reliance on Russian energy as the bloc pursued more climate-friendly sources, but now "the rupture has come with a speed that few imagined possible," the agency said.
  • The group's analysis notes that Asian buyers will make up some of the difference, but Russia won't find markets for all the huge volumes that once went to Europe.

Now folks are believing "experts" prognostications 28 yrs out ?
Drinkin' the same Koolade the Climate Alarmists have laid out since the 60s ?
1st - the Earth was going back into the Ice Age ( I was a kid in the 60s and heard it with every winter weather report) DIDN"T HAPPEN.
Then late 70s -80s Oh my AGW - Anthropomorphic/ Man-made Global Warming. (ALgore sez we'd be burned up by now) DIDN"T HAPPEN.
Now Climate Change is the name of the game and I'm still waiting.

So it is obvious to me long term forecasts are simple Fear-mongering tactics of the Elite. Wanting more the of the sheeples money, as they see us as cattle for their use and amusement.
YMMV
OBTW ; These Elites want their herds to eat bugs as protein. Like chickens pecking ticks.

It's an estimate, so of course the numbers could end up being wrong, but this is a consortium that knows the energy business and has been around for a long time (members include Brazil, India, South Africa and China - 4 of the 5 BRICS BTW). What's interesting to me, isn't the exact numbers they estimate, but the big picture.

UKRAINIAN WAR REPORTER - FAILURE OF EU LEADERSHIP - END OF US HEGEMONY

Scottish born Johnny Miller has been a war correspondent for many years covering wars in Syria, Libya, and Burma among others. He is currently covering the conflict in Ukraine from the Donetsk Peoples Republic. His mission as a reporter is to promote peace in Europe! Says the sanctions were a massive miscalculation of European leadership, and this war will spell the end of American hegemony. Says the EU is not united and we might see the breakup because of this conflict. He feels something big is coming with Russia's call up of 300,000 reservists. He talked about the danger, fear and stress in Donetsk about being killed at any moment.

But Monday's resumption of Ukrainian grain shipments suggested that Moscow was stopping short of attempting to impose a new blockade.

Ukraine and Russia are both among the world's largest exporters of food. For three months, the U.N.-backed deal has guaranteed Ukrainian exports can reach markets, lifting a Russian de facto blockade on Ukraine. The news that Moscow was pulling out of the deal had sent global wheat prices soaring by more than 5% on Monday morning.

The ships that sailed on Monday included one hired by the U.N. World Food Programme to bring 40,000 tonnes of grain to drought-hit Africa.

Türkiye is determined to continue its efforts for the Black Sea grain export deal despite Russian hesitancy, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Monday after Moscow suspended its participation in the initiative at the weekend.

"Even if Russia behaves hesitantly because it didn't receive the same benefits, we will decisively continue our efforts to serve humanity," Erdoğan said told an event in Istanbul.
...
Separately, a U.N. spokesperson said the first of 40 planned ship inspections on Monday had been completed in Istanbul waters with a team of just U.N. and Turkish members, rather than the previous four-member teams including Russians and Ukrainians before Moscow's suspension of its participation.

"KYIV, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Ships brought grain from Ukrainian ports on Monday, suggesting Moscow had stopped short of reimposing a blockade that might have caused world hunger, despite suspending its participation in a U.N. programme to safely export grain from the war zone."

I was under the impression that the 'blockade' was because the Ukranians mined the harbor and passage way and that Russia was assuring safe passage through the area for ships wanting to haul grain out after Ukraine demined the area...

The 'story' above is the fake MSM mantra of the west.

Besides (from past reports) Ukraine supplies 1% of the world's grain - that's hardly going to cause 'world hunger'.

lol. No, they weren't assuring safe passage. They were preventing traffic.

Russia: Warships will surround Ukraine and block traffic until Ukraine removes defenses against Russian warships.

...
3. What is causing the blockade?

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his generals have spoken openly about their desire to capture Ukraine's largest port, Odesa, and possibly the entire Ukrainian coastline -- which would throttle Ukraine's economy.

When Russia invaded Ukraine in late February, there was a possibility that the Russian navy might launch an assault on Ukraine's southwestern coast from the sea.

By capturing Snake Island, a strategically important slice of dry land off Ukraine's western coast, on day one of the war, the Kremlin signaled its intent.

In response to the Russian threat, Ukraine quickly placed mines in the Black Sea near Odesa and other major ports.

In a briefing with ABC News this week, a NATO official said coastal defenses were necessary "in order to deter or thwart a potential Russian amphibious landing."

The Russian government recently said it was ready to provide a humanitarian corridor for ships carrying food, in return for the lifting of Western sanctions. It called on Ukraine to de-mine the Black Sea.

However, the U.K. Ministry of Defense accused Russia of "introducing an alternative narrative" to complicate people's understanding of the original cause of the blockade.

Ukraine has only deployed maritime mines, the U.K.'s Ministry of Defense said, "because of the continued credible threat of Russian amphibious assaults from the Black Sea."

4. Why do Western leaders accuse Putin of "weaponizing hunger" and is there a solution on the horizon?

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently accused Putin of "using food as a weapon."

The Biden administration and its Western allies make this accusation because Russia's invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked and the Kremlin has the ability to drop its threat on ports such as Odesa.

"If Kyiv solves the problem of de-mining ports, then the Russian navy will ensure unhindered passage of ships with grain to the Mediterranean Sea," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov responded on Tuesday to international criticism.

The White House has already ruled out meeting Russia's demand to drop sanctions in return for an end to the blockade.

What military guarantees Russia could offer Ukraine, in order for Ukraine to demine the Black Sea, is not at all clear.

A senior NATO official offered a blunt assessment to ABC News in the context of Tuesday's back and forth: Ukraine cannot trust anything Russia says.

Try as I might I find it more and more difficult to trust the US MSM.
Fair enough. But facts can be verified.
  • Russia blockaded Odessa (prevented grain ships from leaving).
  • Russia said it would provide a humanitarian corridor for ships carrying food, in return for the lifting of Western sanctions
  • "If Kyiv solves the problem of de-mining ports, then the Russian navy will ensure unhindered passage of ships with grain to the Mediterranean Sea," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said
  • It took a deal brokered with Turkey (which Russia recently withdrew from) to get some shipments out for a short period of time

“Russia blockaded”. Past tense, back in June.

Russia was doing mine sweeps to remove what US/UK/Ukrainian put there that prevented shipping.

US/UK/Ukrainian drone attacked those Russian ships, so Russia withdrew from agreement to provide further safeguards. Turkey said they will take over.

I didn’t see any proof that Russia is currently preventing shipments.

#1. Sanctions have had zero effect so far.
#2. Yet Oil exports are still moving.
#3. BFD - Gold has been moving to the SGE, Shanghai Gold Exchange . Silver and other metals moving at SMM - Shanghai Metals Market. Most Asian, South America, and M.E. nations have or developing accounts with the Sanghai exchanges.
The ones not are going down with the USSA.

It would be interesting to know who is in possession of the Libyan and Iraqi Gold. US numbers didn't change. Maybe the New York Fed Vaults.

Noooo. In Wroclaw poland the ukis are working, hookers or not...
My wife has to hire women to go in and help her mother, nothing but ukis as workers from the agencies. She tried.

think i mentioned it before, poland was full of uki refugees quite a while before the war, sort of like mexico and here but smaller scale, they were mostly in the east, but the last few years they been filling up wroclaw aka breslau. One of the reasons poland gave for not taking the arab/african invasion was they already had a huge number of Uki refugees.

In the guise of 'fairness' here's propaganda from the other side.

UN: evidence of Russia taking Ukrainian children

United Nations (United States) (AFP) – The United Nations cited "credible accusations" Wednesday that Moscow's forces have forcibly taken Ukrainian children to Russia, while Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the West of benefitting from the eased grain blockade.

Kyiv meanwhile said its forces had recaptured significant territory in a counter-offensive southeast of Kharkiv that experts say could threaten key Russian supply routes.

As Europe girded for the prospect of winter with diminished energy supplies, the European Commission proposed a series of measures to control energy skyrocketing prices and punish Moscow for invading Ukraine, including a price cap on Russian gas.

"We are facing an extraordinary situation, because Russia is an unreliable supplier and is manipulating our energy markets," warned EU chief Ursula von der Leyen.

"Our unity and our solidarity will ensure that we will prevail," she added.

Abusive 'filtration' program

In Washington and at a UN Security Council meeting, Moscow was accused of forcing large numbers of Ukrainian non-combatants into detention camps and even prisons via a Kremlin-directed "filtration" program, and removing children from the war zone to hand over to adoptive parents inside Russia.

#photo1
"We are concerned that the Russian authorities have adopted a simplified procedure to grant Russian citizenship to children without parental care, and that these children would be eligible for adoption by Russian families," Ilze Brands Kehris, the assistant UN secretary-general for human rights, told the Security Council.

She said Russian forces are putting Ukrainians in occupied territories through invasive security checks that have involved numerous human rights violations.

Some Ukrainians judged as close to the Ukraine government or military have been tortured and forcibly removed and sent to Russian penal colonies and other detention centers, she said.

The US State Department said Russian President Vladimir Putin's office is directly managing the relocation of Ukrainians into Russia, and doing it as part of a plan to annex occupied territory.

"Russia has systematically used the practice of forced deportations previously, and the fear and misery it evokes for people forced to live under the Kremlin's control are hard to overstate," said State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel.

But Russian UN Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya called the allegations unfounded and said what was labelled "filtration" was simply registering Ukrainians willingly fleeing the war to Russia.

"As far as we can judge similar procedures are applied in Poland and other countries of the European Union against Ukrainian refugees," he told the Security Council.

Putin says Europe taking the grain

Putin accused Europe of taking advantage of Russia's lifting of a blocked on Ukraine grain exports to help itself while poorer countries were being deprived of essential food.

Official data collected by a joint centre in Istanbul monitoring implementation of the recent grain export agreement showed 30 percent of the grain reaching low and lower-middle income countries.

Data compiled as of Wednesday showed Turkey receiving 20 percent of the grain followed by Spain (15 percent) and Egypt (10 percent).

But much of the grain reaching Turkey and some other destinations is then re-sold under agreements not monitored by the Istanbul centre.

"Almost all the grain exported from Ukraine is sent not to the poorest developing countries, but to EU countries," Putin alleged.

European countries were acting as "colonialists," he said, "once again simply deceived developing countries."

"Maybe we should think about limiting the export of grain and other produce along this route?" he said.

A US official dismissed Putin's remarks as untrue, noting that some grain sent to Europe was then processed for poor nations.
