A rare look at Muhammad Ali's training camp in Deer Lake, PA, a place he dubbed "Fighter's Heaven". I'm NOT certain that is Eddie "Bossman" Jones in the sparring session with him. How Foreman CONQUERED 2 Eras of Heavyweight! Old vs New Style | Boxing Breakdown

George Foreman developed and blended two incredible & unusual boxing styles that allowed him to dominate as a young and old athlete, becoming heavyweight champion in two different eras. He still remains the oldest heavyweight champion of all time.
The first style relied heavily on a low, long guard, one of the most dangerous but effective styles in boxing. The second incorporated the cross guard, one of the rarest systems in boxing.
Foreman's triumph is more than physical, it's mental. He took account of his new physical limitations and worked with them rather than against him. And he accepted his defeats, particularly against Muhammad Ali, and used it to grow and become a better man. The new version of Big George was not just an improved boxer, he was a totally different person.

Train Beyond the Test - Preparing for Selection, Active Operator Challenges and More...

Streamed live 22 hours ago

Beyond the PT Test: Preparing for Real-World Military Challenges - the Seasonal Tactical Fitness Periodization Section at https://www.stewsmithfitness.com for a system to truly prepare for everything - testing and beyond...Not just optimal performance but longevity as well. 47 mins long.

Preparing for a military career involves much more than just passing a physical fitness test. While this initial assessment is undoubtedly a crucial entry point, it scarcely scratches the surface of what is necessary for success in military operations. To thrive in the field, recruits must adopt a holistic view of fitness that extends beyond mere numerical assessments.

Relying exclusively on traditional physical fitness benchmarks like running or basic calisthenics can leave gaps in a service member's overall preparedness. The military has recognized this limitation and is pivoting towards a more functional fitness approach—one that mirrors the varied demands faced in real-world scenarios. This transition is encapsulated in the development of Tactical Fitness Tests, which serve to equip service members with the well-rounded abilities they need.

Consider, for instance, the creation of the Army Combat Fitness Test, the Marine Corps Combat Fitness Test, the Navy Human Performance Test, and the Air Force Operator Fitness Test. These innovative assessments incorporate a wide spectrum of fitness elements, specifically targeting strengths that translate directly into military tasks. Areas such as strength, speed, power, agility, grip endurance, muscle stamina, and load-bearing capacity are now integral components of military fitness evaluations.

A Scientifically Backed Method for ENHANCED VISION - Train the Eye Muscles!

Oct 25, 2024

This video is the first in a new series exploring all the ways we can heighten our senses. By training vision, hearing, and proprioception, we can alter our entire experience of the world AND enhance our performance.

The cool part? A lot of this is very low hanging fruit. Most of us don’t do anything at all to train our senses… so it’s not hard to start seeing a difference!

In this video, we’re talking about the importance of training the eye muscles, specifically. That means both the extrinsic muscles that control the movement of the eyes and the intrinsic muscles that aid with focus.

The goal of this training is not only to better track objects - but also to be able to keep the eyes steady during movement. This can help facilitate a technique known as “The Quiet Eye” which has been demonstrated by numerous studies to help enhance sports performance. And the cool thing is that this is something you can start using immediately. So, you should be able to improve your vision by the end of this video.

There’s lots more to come! Stay tuned for future instalments to learn about sports vision, hearing, proprioception, and more.
