Have you looked into Theta at all? Bix has that as pretty much his main holding and talks about it a lot. It has also moved quite a bit the last few days.

Downside to Theta (or TFUEL) is that it's not easy to acquire at the moment. Neither Coinbase, Uniswap nor any of the web3 entry ramps that work with Ledger are trading it.
I did download and install the Theta Edge Node sotware to see what it's all about. So far, I can't really tell if it is actually doing anything.
I cannot find anywhere what this minimum threshold is. If it's published on the Theta website, I can't find it. I even checked the Theta Reddit community and didn't see any discussion of it.* Payouts (over min threshold) are batched and sent the first week of the month
I let the Theta Edge Node software run continuously (all night) since yesterday afternoon. I checked it just now and see that my computer was assigned a job yesterday late afternoon ~(5pm) and another one this morning (~10am). Both jobs were related to video encoding. I earned 0.09 TFUEL for each job - so 0.18 TFUEL pending. The TFUEL that is earned is paid out monthly (at the beginning of the month).
TFUEL is currently trading at ~$0.07 so, I'm not going to get rich any time soon with this system. I have to wonder if I used a more robust computer (the one I'm using does not even meet their min requirements) or a LAN line internet connection instead of WiFi, if my computer might get assigned more jobs and earn more TFUEL.
I forgot to include a link to the Theta Edge software (in case anyone else wants to give it try):
Setting up the Edge Node
The Edge Node turns your computer into an edge computing node in the Theta EdgeCloud. The Edge Node can execute various types of jobs including AI/deep learning model training and inference, as well as video transcoding and relaying. By running the edge node, you can contribute unused...docs.thetatoken.org
So you can install the software and earn TFuel? I assume to then get that TFuel you'll need a wallet.
Were you able to buy some Theta coins or was it too difficult because of the obscure broker?
... the Theta team is leveraging its experience in 3D 360 rendering and moving towards EdgeCloud launch on May 1 with a focus on AI compute jobs. In the next few weeks, Theta edge nodes will be upgraded to support 3D rendering test jobs, which will be rewarded in TFUEL and in preparation for integration into the EdgeCloud platform. In later releases this year, EdgeCloud will enable full 3D rendering and AI applications utilizing 3D pipelines, for example, to process complex 3D visual effects for movies and animations, with the scalability and reliability required by the largest media companies.

A closely followed crypto analyst believes one decentralized video-streaming altcoin project is about to go on a massive rally.
Pseudonymous trader Kaleo tells his 632,300 followers on the social media platform X that Theta Network (THETA), a platform for decentralized video delivery, could soar by more than 200% as the social finance (SoFi) space finds renewed interest.
Looking at his chart, the trader suggests that THETA could soar beyond $10. THETA is trading for $3.10 at time of writing, up 10.5% in the last 24 hours.

Before the launch of the full immersive GroveWars experience later this year, a 3D ‘Character Builder’ application, which will enable users to customize various Grove characters with a multitude of weapons, accessories and apparel, will debut in May 2024 and preview the world of GroveWars to come.
Both the Character Builder application and the complete GroveWars experience will be further enhanced by the introduction of the GROVE Token, a native TNT-20 token built on Theta which will provide significant utility for users throughout the game experience.

The ability to fully harness the power of desktop and laptop GPUs is an important step towards establishing Theta EdgeCloud as the leading hybrid cloud-distributed AI computing platform. In the next few weeks, Theta edge nodes for Windows will be updated to support CUDA. In the meantime, we ask the Theta community to update and install the necessary CUDA software prior to this upcoming release. In the future, CUDA enabled edge nodes will also be rewarded with bonus TFUEL and other TNT-20 tokens.
Following is a step-by-step guide to updating Nvidia drivers and installing the CUDA software on Windows machines.

It doesn't make a lot of sense they complain on running on more than one unit/computer. Isn't the entire idea to share the network connections? Which by definition means you would have lots of things running the edge node with one network connection.
Sounds like they have some automated system that might flag a node for reasons, but if you email them about it, they fix it, which is what happened in my case. I'm currently running the Edge Node software on two machines concurrently and so far have not encountered any issue.Theta Network said:Hello, pmbug said:Where can I find the terms of use or user/licensing agreement for the Edge Node software?
May I run the Edge Node software on more than one computer on my home network? Is that against any TOS / agreement?
You can technically run as many as you want, but system might block/ban Nodes running on the same network. Just let us know if it happens.
... I managed to top off my Theta balance to 1,000 which is the minimum required for staking, so I should soon be earning TFUEL passively.

TFUEL earning
The Guardian Node app will display your total TFUEL earnings and session TFUEL earnings, or you can also see all of your TFUEL earnings earned by checking your wallet address in the Mainnet block explorer. Guardian Node TFUEL earnings are awarded every 100 blocks, or approximately every 10 minutes in a probabilistic method. At each 100 block checkpoint, there are 200–300 stakers randomly selected (weighted by their stake) to divide the block rewards. A large staker (ex. with 100K+ THETA stake) should expect to receive a reward every 2.5–3 hours or so (not guaranteed, just expectation). A 100K staker should have at least 98% likelihood to receive a reward every 10 hours. Conversely, a 1,000 THETA staker may only see a TFUEL reward once per month, analogous to a small Bitcoin miner with low hashrate. For the same block though, two stakers with the same stake may NOT receive the same amount of reward. While all nodes will earn TFUEL proportional to their stake over time, it means there can be significant variations in the timing and size of TFUEL rewards between different users.

... I guess that means I shouldn't expect another staking reward for the next 3 weeks at minimum, but we'll see...
