The U.S. Supreme Court outlawed split-jury verdicts for people accused of serious crimes in the landmark 2020 ruling Ramos v. Louisiana, righting a historical wrong propelled more than a century ago by white supremacy and xenophobic fervor.

I think Trump and his supporters (not the repubs) are the ones intent on destroying our nation. Trump wants to be a dictator, some of his supporters want a theocracy, some want a white only country and some simply want power over their countrymen. And some are stone nuts.

How? Trump was supposed to (in '17 we were told) crash the markets and start WW3 and lock up all the gays.

In a Just World, he'd be acquitted. In commie NY, who the f' knows. Hopefully the two lawyers on the jury will have recognized that the prosecution never proved their case, nor did they spell out what the crime was. The so called judge told the jury it doesn't matter if they understand the crime or not. How could you vote to convict someone, if you don't even understand what they done wrong?

Unless he committed some heinous crime, I don't really care about someone's opinion of what they think he did. No one is perfect, but he is more perfect for the job than the senile old fool that is currently being propped up.

Do you really think America is better off with him (supposedly) in charge? Do you really believe that he's calling the shots? If so, I got some swamp land in Fla you might be interested in. Their star witness admitted to grand larceny, which is a much more serious crime than anything Trump might have done, yet nothing is done about it. The same prosecutor routinely lets violent criminals loose w/o bail. Why is he so hot and heavy on Trump, when he is soft on all other, and much worse crimes?

The hold up with these is the decision by the supreme court on whether or not Trump is immune from everything he did while prez.

Depending on what they decide these trials may or may not go forward. If they do proceed, I'm pretty sure Trump will be convicted in the Jan 6th case. No clue if the other two are gonna happen due to legal issues in GA and FL.

Although I voted for him the 1st time I lost interest in him about 18 months into his Presidency and said he was finished at that point on GIM2. He's still the best choice out there but even if elected we get 4 more years of BS. There is no fixing this shitshow we call the US government.

Where Trump went wrong is he failed to appoint people that would really change things in DC. Same old people in key positions and many of us scratching our heads wondering WTF he was thinking. He also didn't drain the swamp like he promised and that is now coming back to bite him. Right now he should really just stop running and endorse Desantis. Go fight his legal battles and let someone else take the blame for the collapse of the US.
I know he has a lot of support but I just don't see him doing much of anything if elected. The same ol swamp will shut him down just like last time. I know his ego thinks he can save the country but he's living in the past and has no idea how corrupt these people have become. These are the best politicians corporate money can buy. After both sides just passed new laws to allow the spy agencies to spy on Americans and terminate our 4th amendment rights, it should be obvious, they dont work for the American people.

A possibility many Republicans won’t consider: Trump did something wrong​

When Alvin Bragg first announced his candidacy to serve as Manhattan district attorney in June 2019, he argued that change was needed in the office. The incumbent, Cyrus Vance Jr., had been criticized heavily for failing, despite the evidence, to bring charges against prominent New Yorkers — like Harvey Weinstein and two of Donald Trump’s children.

“I’m running because far too often, we have two standards of justice — one for the rich and powerful and connected, and another for everyone else,” Bragg said in a video announcing his bid. “We must follow the facts wherever they lead, regardless of how influential the person under investigation is.”

In the years since, the idea that there are two standards of justice has been embraced by Bragg’s most prominent target: former president Trump. In Trump’s formulation, the issue isn’t that people in positions of influence are getting away with crimes. Instead, it’s that he — and theoretical others on the right — are being unfairly targeted by an out-of-control criminal justice system.

It’s an argument that holds enormous sway with Trump’s base of support and the broader right-wing media bubble that surrounds it. It is also an obvious extension of Trump’s long-standing rejection of any criticism, any investigation into him or his family. With Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts in Manhattan Criminal Court on Thursday, though, it would behoove Trump supporters and Republicans more broadly to consider an alternative view of that outcome and the other indictments Trump faces: They are a function not of some indirect effort to damage him politically but, instead, of the criminal justice system responding to violations of the law.
